Who we are

The Winnipeg Transgender Group is a volunteer-run organization of male-to-female, female-to-male and intersexed individuals. The group has been active in the city since 1998.

Our primary goal is to offer peer support and information for adults wishing to explore issues of gender identity or transition in a non-judgmental environment.

Individuals of all ages (18+), sexes and cultural backgrounds are welcome to join us. There is no cost and no obligation.

We also encourage families, friends or significant others (18+) who wish to support a transgender individual to join us.

We meet on the third Friday of each month at the Rainbow Resource Centre. For more information, please see the Support meetings page. We also get together occasionally at members’ homes for social events.

Outreach work

We work with health-care professionals to improve access to medical services for transgender individuals in Manitoba.

We work with TG groups and individuals in other provinces to expand awareness of our medical, legal and social issues.

We do workshops and informational sessions with organizations that deal with transgender clients.

If your organization has transgender clients and you would like to arrange a workshop for your staff, please contact us.

Media interviews

We are available for media interviews on transgender issues. Please contact us with your request, or contact us through the Rainbow Resource Centre. We will do our best to work with your deadlines.
