The Rainbow Resource Centre is a not-for-profit community organization that provides support and resources to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and two-spirit communities of Manitoba and North Western Ontario.

The resource centre is a great place to meet people or get information on services for sexual and gender minorities and their families or supporters. Phone or drop by to check out the extensive book, magazine and video library.

The Manitoba Human Rights Commission is the agency responsible for carrying out the provisions of The Human Rights Code (Manitoba). Anyone can file a complaint if it is believed that a practice or policy results in unreasonable discrimination.

In 2010, the Commission issued a guideline document covering gender identity:

Protections from discrimination based on gender identity; Your Rights, Your Obligations identifies protections from discrimination on the basis of gender identity under The Human Rights Code (Manitoba) in employment, services and housing.

Sexuality Education Resource Center (SERC) is a community-based, non-profit, pro-choice agency.  Our mission is Promoting Sexual Health Through Education. Services include library, web site www.serc.mb.ca , education and training, information and referral, and community outreach and networking.  Counselling for GLBTTQ* community in the Brandon area is offered by Rainbow Resource Centre out of our Brandon office.

A Street Women’s Health, Outreach and Resource Service which provides a wide variety of services to women (including transgender women). Sage House works towards improving the health and safety of street-involved women by providing them with free condoms, health education and medical care on site. Nursing services are available during drop-in hours. Outreach workers connect women with resources: education, addictions treatment, welfare, housing, child and family support and harm reduction information. The drop-in house at 422 Dufferin Avenue is a welcoming, safe environment where meals, laundry and baths are freely available and women are encouraged to explore their choices and support each other. Sage House is a program offered by Mount Carmel Clinic.
